About Inger

Inger Johnson, L.Ac., EAMP

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Inger is a licensed acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist, and East Asian Medicine practitioner in the state of Washington. She holds a master’s degree in Acupuncture and East Asian medicine (SIEAM, 2006) and is a nationally board certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), a certified Chinese herbalist, and an Acupuncture Detoxification Associate. Inger is also a member of the Washington East Asian Medicine Association (WEAMA).

Inger’s clinic, which includes an herbal pharmacy, is located in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood. She specializes in women’s health, such as infertility, pregnancy and post-partum support, premenstrual syndrome, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and menopause.

Inger also specializes in treating autoimmune conditions, anxiety and depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, sleep disorders, and chronic pain. In addition to these areas of focus, Inger also treats most other concerns.

Inger’s treatment approach is to design a customized treatment plan for each patient that always includes acupuncture and, depending on the patient’s needs, possibly the other modalities of Chinese medicine: tui na (massage) and cupping therapy, Chinese herbs, food recommendations, and qi gong (exercise).

In addition to her private practice, she provided acupuncture treatments to the residents of BayView Retirement Community for ten years and has also volunteered to treat homeless youth at ROOTS Young Adult Shelter and opioid-dependent adults at Evergreen Treatment Services.

Inger enjoys participating in continuing education courses to supplement and enrich her knowledge. She has recently completed Kiiko Matsumoto’s three-part series on Hara diagnosis and palpation and a three-part series on Medical Qi Gong under the guidance of Dr. Guan-Cheng Sun, founder of the Institute of Qi Gong & Integrative Medicine.

Inger was also trained as a classical ballet dancer with the San Francisco Ballet School and performed with the San Francisco Ballet company. Inger later moved back to the Northwest, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Marylhurst University. Inger currently resides in Seattle, Washington with her significant other and Mungo, their dog.
